The Polaris / UR 12 updates have brought some changes to Dynamics CRM 2011, many of which you have to turn on. We’ve covered a lot of this in our blog on Preparing for the December 2012 Service Update, which provides several great resources to help guide you through these changes.

One thing you might be wondering about is if there are any changes to JavaScript for the Polaris Update / UR 12. With the new update, the CRM 4 style of JavaScript is still supported—but support for this HAS to be turned on. All CRM 4 APIs are turned off unless the CRM 4.0 PI is turned on.

To do this, navigate to Settings / Administration / Customizations.

Check the box for “Include HTC support in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Forms.”

Javascript for the Polaris Update / UR 12

That’s it!

We do recommend that all JavaScript be re-written in CRM 2011 style. This will make your JavaScript cross-browser compatible and actually run a little faster too.

That’s your quick tip of the day…Happy CRM’ing!
