Just to assist, the CRM installer will is failing to interact with the OS roles/features installation function. You must install all the pre-requisites manually. It is likely an OS local administration group policy setting preventing the CRM installer from adding new server roles/features. I had exactly the same experience and to this is the same in Windows 8 for other installers. Here is my list of roles/features you will need before CRM installation on Win Server 2012/SQL Server 2012.
- Install (Role) IIS role
- Install (Feature) Windows Identity Framework
- Install (Feature) 2.0 to 3.5 .Net Framework
- Install (Feature) Windows Search Service
- Uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 packs
- Install SQL Server & Reporting Services
- Also include full-text indexing service
- Configure SQL Server Reporting Services
